Report an image
Every image has a "report" action, reachable from its viewer page. You'll be asked for a reason (malware, phishing, illegal content, abuse, copyright, or other) and can add free-text context. You do not need an account.
If you don't have API access, email [email protected] with the full link (or at minimum the image id from the URL) and the reason for the report.
What happens after a report
Because images are encrypted end-to-end (see our Security page), we cannot see the content of a reported image. What we can do, and do, is act on the report by ending that specific link's accessibility — the id is immediately flagged, and every access path (viewing, the API, everything) starts refusing it right away, without waiting for any cleanup process. To anyone who tries the link afterward, it looks identical to an image that simply expired or was deleted.
This is a real, effective takedown mechanism. It does not require us to decrypt anything, and it works the same way whether the underlying content turned out to be something we'd have wanted to remove or not — a report ends a link's life, full stop, without a content review step that a zero-knowledge system structurally cannot perform anyway.
What we cannot do
- We cannot preview, verify, or selectively act on the content of a report before disabling the link.
- We cannot identify who uploaded a given image. There are no accounts, and IP addresses are never stored in reversible form.
- We cannot recover an image after it's been removed, whether by report, expiry, burn, or the owner's own deletion.
Legal requests
If you are a legal authority with a lawful request, email [email protected]. We will respond to legitimate legal process to the extent required by law, within the technical limits described in our Security and Terms pages — we do not hold plaintext content or decryption keys to hand over, because we never had them.
Repeat abuse
We reserve the right to apply stricter rate limits, additional verification challenges, or other technical measures against clients or patterns of use associated with repeated abuse reports, independent of any specific image's content.
