Terms of Service
These are plain terms for a small, anonymous, encrypted image-sharing service. If you're running your own deployment of this software, adapt these to your own jurisdiction and circumstances rather than using them verbatim as-is.
What this service is
NullImage lets anyone upload an image, encrypted in their browser, and share a link to it. There are no accounts. We do not verify who uploads or who views anything.
What you agree to by using it
- You will not use this service to store or share content that is illegal in the jurisdiction where the service operates, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material, content that infringes someone else's rights, or material used to facilitate fraud or harm.
- You understand that anyone who obtains the complete link to an image you've shared can view it — you are responsible for who you share links with.
- You understand that a "Never" expiry option exists, and that choosing it means the image persists until you delete it, it's burned by a single view (if you set that option too), or it is removed following an abuse report.
What we can and cannot do about content
Because images are encrypted in your browser before we ever see them, we cannot inspect the content of any image, including in response to a report, except by removing access to it entirely (see our Abuse Policy). We do not have the technical ability to selectively "look inside" an image to verify a report before acting — action on a report means the link stops working, full stop.
This does not exempt this service, its content, or its users from any legal obligation that otherwise applies. If a lawful order compels action beyond what's described here, we will comply with legal process to the extent required by law, within the actual limits of what the system holds — which does not include plaintext content or the decryption key.
No warranty
This service is provided as-is. We make no guarantee about uptime, that an image will remain available for its full stated expiry (though we design for that), or that the service will exist indefinitely. Do not use this as your only copy of anything you care about keeping.
Changes
We may change these terms, the service, or shut it down. If you're relying on an image staying up, that reliance is at your own risk — see "No warranty."
